The Benefits of Having a Green Roof That You Probably Didn’t Know About

Green roofs are a trend that took the construction industry by storm, changing the way roofers think about their projects. These ecologically friendly roofs don’t just help the environment, however; they also make heating and cooling costs more affordable. Here are several reasons to consider a green roof for your next building project.

Increased Home Value

Green roofs are visually appealing and may increase the curb appeal of a home. Environmentally friendly roofs also reduce heating and cooling costs. Both of these things help increase the value of your home and make it more attractive to potential buyers should you decide to put it on the market.

Recycled Materials

Environmentally friendly roofing materials are often made with recycled products. This reduces the consumption of natural resources and limits the amount of waste going into landfills. If you are concerned about the environment, installing a green roof is a great choice.

Noise Control

One of the most surprising benefits of green roofing materials is their ability to reduce noise. Environmentally friendly materials improve sound insulation, drowning out noise from nearby commercial buildings. Green roofs are especially desirable in neighborhoods near airports due to their noise-reduction capabilities.

Improved Climate and Air Quality

The materials used to make green roofs add moisture to the air. This improves the climate of small areas. This effect is amplified when property owners coordinate their efforts and install green roofs in several buildings on the same street. Green roofs also help improve air quality because they filter smog particles and dust out of the air.

As an added benefit, the temperature-control abilities of green roofs help reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere.

Water Management Capabilities

Too much moisture encourages mold and mildew growth on traditional roofing materials. Excess moisture also increases the risk of dry rot. Green roofs make water management much easier, increasing the lifespan of the roof and preventing costly repair issues.

The plants used to make green roofs absorb moisture and then release it into the air. As a result, moisture does not build up under the roof and increase the risk for roof damage. Green roofs also control the speed at which water runs off a roof, preventing sewer problems in urban areas.

During the summer, a green roof retains up to 90 percent of precipitation. By retaining water, green roofs act as natural filters. They also control the temperature of the retained water, which can reduce your energy costs.

Cost Savings

Green roofs save money by providing better insulation in hot and cold weather. Homeowners can reduce their air conditioning costs significantly by using green roofs to prevent their homes from getting too hot during the summer months. Green roofs are also resistant to extreme temperature fluctuations that can damage shingles and other roofing materials.

Fire Safety Considerations

Wood shakes, shingles, and other traditional roofing materials are flammable. They also have high burning heat loads. Burning heat load refers to the amount of heat generated when something burns. Because green roofs have lower burning heat loads, a home with a green roof is likely to sustain less damage during a fire than a home with a roof made of wood shakes or shingles.

Biodiversity

Biodiversity is a measure of the variety of organisms in a specific ecosystem. The plants used to create a green roof encourage biodiversity, even in congested areas. Certain plants attract butterflies, birds, and beneficial insects.

Increased biodiversity has several benefits for homeowners and their communities. If you have a green roof, you might get to enjoy watching colorful butterflies flitting around during warm weather. Adding a green roof to a home is also a great idea for someone who likes to watch birds and keep an eye out for unusual species.

Biodiversity also benefits the general ecosystem and the economy. Diverse ecosystems are better equipped to handle environmental changes than ecosystems without a lot of diversity. The economy benefits from biodiversity because stable ecosystems make it easier to ensure the availability of medicinal plants, food, and other ecological products.

Conclusion

An ecological roof can help you save money and cut down on the need for repairs in the future. The materials used in an ecologically friendly roof can make your home safer and helps the community and the environment as a whole. If you want to enjoy the many benefits of a green roof, talk to a roofing professional about your needs. A knowledgeable professional can help you weigh the benefits of a green roof against the costs of purchasing the materials and doing the installation.

Surgeon Selection for hair transplant in Pakistan

Getting your hair transplanted in not an easy decision, one needs to look into a lot of aspects of hair restoration procedure. The first and the major step of getting this treatment is the selection of the surgeon who should be qualified and skilled.

The best way to find the surgeon is through someones recommendation, it can be from your dermatologist or your friend who has gone through this treatment in a successful way. Never select the surgeon through some infomercials or hostile marketing campaigns. There are many surgeons who are not much experienced and spend a lot of money on the marketing rather than the patient care. It is very important to know how qualified the surgeon is. If the surgeon is the member of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery and have Diplomas from American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery or post graduation from any Western country, for showing great achievement in clinical or science research related to hair restoration, then the patient should show the confidence in their skills and select him as your hair transplant surgeon.

For hair restoration, the specialty of the surgeon is very important to be aware of. If the surgeon is not board certified as a plastic surgeon or a dermatologist, then you are bound to ask him as to why he has chosen to be in a hair restoration field. The advantage of seeking a hair transplant specialist is that they get their residency training in the medical and surgical treatment of skin, nails and hair diseases, are capable of making an exact diagnosis of the hair loss and balancing all the treatment options. It is also important to inquire about the surgeons contribution in the field of hair transplantation through some publications and researches. As these medical publications prove that the surgeon is sharing his experiences and ideas with the other doctors in order to promote the patient care. The publications in raked reviewed medical journals are considered to be of significant value in the medical community. In order to select the surgeon for hair restoration, the biggest decision is to check whether the surgeon is using FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) or FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction). It is very important for the surgeon to have the understanding of both the techniques and which one is best for you if he is providing both the services to his clients. It has been observed that they are biased towards both the techniques and give a balance view. Consulting different surgeons are very effective in deciding that one surgeon. So it is more suitable to chose the surgeon who does only one type of surgery well.

While going for the hair transplantation, it is important to look at the operating room to make sure about the kind of instruments they are using and the cleanliness. The surgeon uses microscopes or loop magnification for dissection or are just operating it with the naked eye, is also an important part as the stereo-microscopes  are very accurate in graft dissection and preserve the donor hair in a best possible manner. The major question that comes in mind is the reputation of the doctor as to how many excellent results he has shown so far. Patient should thoroughly examined that the density of the scalp is checked with a densitometer and is assessed for  elasticity. Doctors taking a quick glance of the head should get beware of.

Patient satisfaction is the most vital part in selecting the clinic for hair transplant in Pakistan. So if you are satisfied with the surgeon, then you must go to him. If you are considering scalpel and stitches free procedure then you should choose fue hair transplant in Pakistan by Dr.Ahmad Chaudhry.

4 Tips on Selecting the Right Under Vehicle Scanner for Your Business

Heightened security concerns over the last decade have introduced an emerging market for security surveillance tools. Among the new technological advances in surveillance, under vehicle inspection systems have seen a sharp rise. Capable of exposing explosive devices, drugs, and other contraband, as well as identifying blacklisted or suspicious vehicles, the under vehicle scanner is becoming an indispensable part of an overall security strategy.

To determine the under vehicle scanner that is right for your facility or event, you need to begin with an assessment of your security needs, followed by an examination of the resources available to meet those needs. Different types of scanners and their add-ons offer a range of choices for companies to consider. Knowing the available scanner features can help companies make a good match.

There are two basic types of under vehicle scanners currently on the market – static scanning systems and real-time video. Static scan uses a much larger camera size and imaging unit than real-time video requires. That creates a huge price increase for the initial purchase of a static scanning system over the real-time video. Add to that cost the necessary in-ground trench to accommodate the long focal length, complicated processing equipment, a fragile lens, costs add up quickly. Real-time video scanners don’t have any of these issues, and are therefore less expensive.

The static line-scan technology in an under vehicle scanner is dramatically superior to area scan or real-time video scanner in terms of its capability for high resolution images with little distortion. This is where companies have to determine need through their own risk-assessment if they need the larger, more complex and costly system, or if the real-time video under vehicle scanning system will meet their needs just as efficiently.

An under vehicle scanner that uses the real-time video technology can process vehicles in a fraction of the time it takes for line-scan processing. Companies need to weigh the risks of giving up ultra-high resolution images in favor of processing more vehicles in a shorter amount of time. Processing time per vehicle may increase by as much as ten seconds.

Lastly, how the company intends to use the under vehicle scanner is a determining factor in whether to choose one scanner over the other. Static scanning technology is not a portable solution. If the primary use is facility security, this offers a good solution. If the scanner is to be used primarily at events or in public spaces, the real-time video scanner is the only solution.
